lyrical freedom.
welcome to America- the land of the free
yet also home to victims of poverty
how do you justify this split dichotomy
anarchy thriving in the midst of democracy?
we are so far from the truth ever since eve and that tree
who ate from the fruit so we’ve inherited a genetic disease
people living like they author their own destinies
this life is an illusion and you cant see how its temporary
cause you live by the moment and tomorrow’s a mystery
you’re victim to the apathy of this materialistic society
none can serve two masters and the brother simply means
that you gotta choose between serving God or your bling
the enemy keeps us in bondage through mental slavery
a direct feed from the media to decrease the moral capacity
in the human soul, from history you can see the proof
of the decline of justice and the rise of gin and juice
drug deals, street brawls, gangs, crews and tatoos
no justice no peace but by the sound of the two-
two, three-eight, four-four of the red, white and blue
we’ve missed all the signs the sirens and the clues that point to
street corner culture infecting the lives of inner city youth
you wont read it in the papers nor see it on the news
censored reality to keep you ignorant in your comfy pews
too few in our pews are hearing more than mere truth
truth love and hope aint for just us its for justice
you waltz into your nice bathroom while they cant find a place to piss
and you wonder why they riot pumping their fists
as you watch from the couch from the tube the news at six
social justice and reconciliation aint for kids it aint trix
its a war out there and we need a schindler’s list
a schindler’s heart to save those caught in the midst
of this dilemma we call life and how it’s been remixed
from the creator’s original track, humanity’s been twisted
on park benches they sleep and through our trash heaps they feed
“man, thats nasty,” it aint their fault, its ours our lust our greed
we all grown adults but still cant handle the responsibility
to help out our own fam caught in persistent poverty
which is the cause for violence and death tolls on the streets
instituional racism thrives through the powers that be
corporations, governments, the church and white supremacy
all tune in to that same network called- the Principalities
“ha ha hee hee, dag chenner, thats really funny
i think you’re the one who’s outta touch with reality”
is the response i get cause its hard to believe things you dont see
and harder to believe what your mind can hardly concieve
to be true this genocide within our so-called “land of the free”
this third world country that cant be found overseas
its on our own soil our land our own inner-city streets
overshadowed by that great idol- the statue of liberty
religion has become nothing more than personal piety
an inclusive, exclusive, self-help christianity
our brother James says that faith is dead without the deeds
so we interpret it as writing a check to appease the charities
its become easier to love the radio guy in colorodo springs
than pray for provide for and love our brothers on the street
“me me me gee thanks for blessing me
thanks for saving me from persistent poverty”
what a load of pharasaical hipocracy
with the poor and needy is where we need to be
not residing in our bling nor our superficial things
things that satisfy for the moment but are lost in eternity
see how sin has stripped us of our humanity
but Christ intervened in human history
at the cross where kenosis was the divine utility
and the love that held him there like virtual reality
could be seen but couldnt be grasped intellectually
the same love whose arms stretched out to heal peeps with leprosy
was the same One who saved prostitutes from stones of pharisees
the same God who calls short tax-collectors down from top of trees
to wine and dine with them all and feast in harmony
the poor, orphaned and widowed were his best company
he said blessed are the poor and i say the poor are too many
there aint enough of us out there planting spiritual seeds
the workers are few but the harvest is plenty
we gotta be led by the Spirit and not simply diven by need
the pains and wounds we fight against are sinfully deep
help finds hope through living in community
fellowship, the sacraments and accountablilty
Christ welcomed us to His banqueting table for free
now its our turn to bring the banqueting table to the streets
where we can sit and eat with the poor and call it family
not a service project, short term mission, but reality
to restore the shalom of Christ back into the city
shining on a hill so bling it shames both p.diddy and fifty
for the human race its time to restore biblical dignity
we bout to take it back from “the man” and we aint gonna say please
Christ has set us apart for this priestly ministry
of redemption and the reincarnation of transphysicality
hah- and i know this all be some deep theology
so blow up the comment box and we’ll talk some more
about what it takes and means for humanity to be freed…

you were really dropping it. thanks for that lyrical walk.
